Wow. What a way to end 2025.

If you caught our last post, you know that this past year was a whirlwind of growth for us. We officially launched our new home at shackintheback.ca, met hundreds of you at local markets, and filled the “Shack” with more yarn and filament than we ever thought possible.

But as the calendar flips to 2026, we aren’t just looking back anymore. We’re looking forward.

The 2026 Vision: Crafting Even Bigger Smiles

Last year was about building the foundation. This year is about creating the magic. Here’s what’s coming to the Shack in the next few months:

• Fresh Stitches: We’re working on some brand-new amigurumi patterns that lean into the “cozy winter” vibe. Think chunky-knit critters and some magical forest friends that are perfect for cuddling while the snow falls here in Newcastle.

• 3D Innovations: Our printers have been humming along! We’re expanding our collection with some incredible new fidgets and functional prints that go way beyond our classic dragons. From intricate new animals to unique desk buddies, we’re finding more ways to bring a little 3D-printed magic into your daily life.

Our New Year “Non-Resolution”

People always ask what our “New Year’s Resolutions” are for the business. Honestly? It’s to stay exactly who we are: two best friends who love making cool stuff and seeing the look on someone’s face when they find their perfect handmade companion. We’re keeping it local, keeping it creative, and keeping it fun.
